New Testament Scholarship Application

NTBC 2024 Scholarship Criteria & Instructions

Scholarship Criteria & Process:

  1. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, current full-time community college student, university, or trade school student in good standing.
  2. Applicants must be a member of New Testament Baptist Church.
  3. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average (GPA) and must submit their transcripts.
  4. Applicants must submit at least one letter of recommendation.
  5. Applicants must respond to the Application Package instructions that can be found below.
  6. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  7. Scholarship finalists may be required to participate in an in-person or virtual interview.
  8. Selected candidates are required to attend the awards ceremony in person on June 23, 2024.

The scholarship application, with all other attached requirements, is due on June 13, 2024. All documents must be submitted with the application, and documents emailed separately will not be considered unless stated in writing.

Application Package

Along with a completed and signed application, you must submit the following documents:

  1. A typed Personal Statement in 11- or 12-point Arial font, one-sided, single-spaced with no more than 500 words. It should describe your motivation to pursue your education, your reason for applying for this scholarship, your accomplishments and demonstrated leadership in and out of school, your planned or current area of college study, and your career aspirations and goals.
  2. A Financial Needs Statement explaining your plans for financing your education: savings and family assistance; grants, loans, scholarships; and any unmet need this scholarship will address. This should contain no more than 400 words.
  3. At least one Letter of Recommendation from a college mentor, faculty member, high school teacher or counselor, or from a community leader familiar with your community and charitable activities.
  4. Your Transcripts must also be submitted. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable with the application. If awarded, you must provide the official high school or college transcript(s). Official Transcripts must be emailed unopened or submitted electronically by the school administration.
